“We didn’t have a remote way to pay research participants. Prior to COVID-19, all our research was in-person so payments were via cash. Once studies were transferred online, Tango was the only viable way to pay participants that were approved by our IRB. We considered Amazon gift cards, but obviously, Tango is better because it gives subjects more options for payments, including cash cards, so it’s basically cash, which was a good selling point.”
