SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor Customer Statistic
79% of surveyed IT organizations were able to gain greater visibility into the availability and performance of their network using SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor.
We have had a turn over of support personnel in the last two years. Using NCM has made our support model consistent and easier to pass information forward to the new teams. Also, it provides for a single location to review configurations and history for individual locations.

We are using SolarWinds NCM mostly for its configuration backup purposes. When we have a switch, router, or firewall failure, NCM assures we have a current backup that we can easily restore to a spare device. This is the invaluable part of NCM for my organization as it limits downtime; this is especially true with firewalls that might have complex VPN configurations and Access Lists.

The ability to get instant information of network issues before end users call and complain. Being able to map all of our devices and access points saves a lot of time in troubleshooting issues. It’s just a great tool!
I have not had or seen a better network monitoring tool and don’t expect to!
Solarwinds keeps up to date on all network hardware and software and builds that into their products.

We use it to keep track of IPs in our organization and subnets. We also like to be able to see DHCP scope utilization at a glance.
Yeah, I find that being able to add a DHCP server and have it read in the scopes is very helpful.

We have it polling the network every 18 hours so it picks up IP addresses that may only be used at certain times of the day/night. All the IT technicians have access to it to allocate IP addresses and are no longer reliant on 1 or 2 people issuing them from spreadsheets.
I would recommend SolarWinds IP Address Manager as it makes life simpler for all the IT technicians.
Robert Birkett, an IT/Systems Administrator at Integrys Energy Group, Inc., is very likely to recommend SolarWinds Network Monitoring for the following reason:
Unless you need a complete suite of tools such as HP OpenView or Tivoli, which are extravagantly expensive, this is the product that would fit the majority of medium sized businesses.

We use IPAM to monitor address space usage and identify free static IP addresses, as well as to occasionally troubleshoot a problem.
I’d recommend IPAM because it’s reliable, features are always being added, it’s automated, and it’s fairly inexpensive.
A Network Administrator of a medium enterprise construction company is very likely to recommend* SolarWinds IP Address Manager for the following reason:
“SolarWinds IP is a good place to record your IP addresses and manage your DHCP and DNS. It’s constantly updating itself so you can leave it to its own devices, unless there are issues or you need to tweak it a bit. You can tell everything about what is on a particular subnet and, being a civil engineering company, we have loads.”
