100% of surveyed IT organizations save up to 25 hours or more each month managing network configurations by using NCM.

Configuration backups and monitoring changes to core infrastructure.
I would recommend all Solarwinds products, I have not been disappointed with any of the modules.

It is a vital tool for automating network configuration changes across 1000’s of devices in our infrastructure which would be a cumbersome process without tools like Orion and NCM.
It will save you time and headaches as well as provide the peace of mind, compliance reporting, and auditing required by most organizations.

Manages Cisco Switches.
Yes! It is very useful to see the layout of the network and what is running. I also appreciate the audit tools that point out security issues that we may not be aware of.

We use SolarWinds Network Configuration to back up configurations, monitor for changes in configuration, and verify security settings. We are able to get consistent settings across all devices for certain settings, including security.
I would definitely recommend SolarWinds Network Configuration Management to any company interested in getting automating configuration backups, logging and monitoring configuration changes, and checking configurations for compliance auditing.

Configuration backup is probably primary, followed by compliance and remediation of those devices out of compliance.
Highly, great tool, reasonably priced, easy to use, and very powerful if used correctly.

We use it to back up just about every device we have in the field, which is very important because the failure rate can be sometimes high. This makes putting a new device back into the field very efficient.
Yes, I would recommend SolarWinds NCM because it does what it says, and it does it well.
4/5 Stars
We use it for backups of networking gear, change audits, and compliance.
I would. The recommendation would be based around ensuring we minimize downtime if we lose a device and the ability to understand what changes have occured to speed up recovery time if a configuration change has caused issues.
4/5 Stars
We use it, primarily, to push large scale configuration changes to similar devices and to keep track of configuration changes.
Yes, it simplifies massive configuration changes and monitoring of those changes.

We use NCM to automatically back configurations, check configurations for errors, or comparison to other configurations.
I would recommend NCM to any network administrator, simply for the power and control it gives you over managing many, many devices. You can use as little or as many of the features as you like and you will still sit back and say to yourself, Wow, that’s cool! You just need to try it to see yourself.

We’re managing a large fleet of network devices from different manufacturers and it’s nice to do this in a single management console.
Certainly. The network engineering position is much more efficient and all issues experienced since implementing seem to be resolved much faster than before. SolarWinds consolidated three other network tools into a single management console and gives us much greater insight into the health of the network.

We use SolarWinds NCM to ensure that we meet SOX requirements.
Yes. We like the comfort of being able to show how and why we are compliant to our auditors.

To backup network equipment configurations and generate audit compliance reports. Show differences in device configurations at different points in time.
Yes, it is a very comprehensive system at a reasonable price.

Configuration changes, monitoring, and auditing policies.
Yes, I would recommend it because it saves us labor hours managing our network and makes us better at our jobs.

We use NCM for backing up configurations of our network devices. We also use it to figure out if someone made a change and forgot to do a “write mem” by comparing the startup and running configurations. I realize there are even more features that we haven’t taken advantage of yet. I’m hoping at some point IT will have time to “grow into” those features and take advantage of the full product.
I would recommend it. It is easy to use and accomplishes the task we need it to do very well.

Policy compliance, configuration backup, and configuration searches.
I would recommend NCM! It is powerful and cost effective compared to other offerings.
Prior to using NCM, there was very little standardization and security was more of an afterthought than a primary focus. Using NCM we have found and brought all of our devices into compliance and as a result, passed a security audit by an outside auditor who was specifically looking for many things we had already taken care of using NCM.
