Quadient Case Study

Richloom Fabrics

Introduction

This case study of Richloom Fabrics is based on a December 2019 survey of Quadient customers by TechValidate, a 3rd-party research service.

Richloom is one of the largest suppliers of textiles in the United States. The company’s expertise extends from its leadership in the upholstery and casual furniture industries to its fashion direction in the decorative textile arena.

“Quadient provides very good service. And their mailing system is easy to use.”

Challenges

The reasons that Richloom Fabrics evaluated and selected Quadient’s mailing system were:

  • The need to pay exact postage rates every time
  • To take advantage of lower postage rates for USPS meter users
  • To Increase speed/productivity in processing mail
  • The need to automate the process of applying postage to outbound mail

Use Case

To effectively run their business, Richloom Fabrics needed to process 1,001-5,000 envelopes per month. They also needed the ability to apply USPS First Class Mail postage and USPS Standard, Marketing Mail (aka Permit) postage.

When selecting Quadient to be their mailing system provider, the following capabilities were most important:

  • Simple screen/user interface
  • Speed of the system
  • Integrated scale to weigh mail pieces to calculate mail postage
  • Ease to add postage funds to the meter

Pitney Bowes was included in the evaluation process but Quadient ranked better than the competitor in the following areas:

  • Sales engagement, consultation process
  • Service technician support
  • Equipment features
  • Equipment reliability
  • Customer support (by phone or web)

Results

Once Richloom Fabrics implemented the Quadient mailing system, they experienced numerous benefits:

  • Compliance with USPS®
  • Compliance with industry regulations
  • Increased mailing operation productivity
  • Ease of operation of the system

Richloom also estimated that they lowered costs in their mailing operations and increased open/response rates for outbound mail by 10-25%. They improved their ability to process high document volumes, eliminated errors in applying postage rate and improved employee/user satisfaction, all greater than 50%. Also notable was that Richloom improved speed and deliverability rates to mail recipients between 5-10%.
