Kentik overwhelmingly shows up its competitors. We reviewed other applications/vendors for a few years trying to find a tool which was worth the money. Most would end up requiring constant attention and support. Some were utterly useless in spite of much community fanfare and terrific marketing. Kentik, though, is the only product in the field of flow analytics that I’ve seen which lives up to, and even exceeds, expectations. Simply the amount of time it takes to parse flow data and present results (seconds!) is a vast improvement. One product – a very well known product – we tested took 30 hours to yield a dataset. I’m not exaggerating. When we first tested Kentik, it took about 30 seconds to render that same information.
