The Position

As an Account Manager, (position is exempt), you will be responsible for executing our engagements with a set of TechValidate customers. In this context, you will work with our executive sponsor (usually a Chief Marketing Officer, Vice President of Marketing, or Director of Marketing) to ensure the client receives maximum value from their engagement with TechValidate.

In this role, you will ultimately be accountable for their customer retention and additional revenue potential (cross-sell and upsell). You will work very closely with our customer advocates to support our customers and also play a large role in expanding our existing accounts by working with our sales team to develop a steady pipeline of opportunities within your customer ecosystem.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player with high social intelligence and a natural inclination for developing relationships with clients and effectively managing accounts or selling into large companies. They have a minimum of four years of experience in account management or sales. They are very driven and can show evidence that they thrive in a competitive, merit-based environment.

Responsibilities

  • Retention – you will be responsible for the retention of your accounts
  • Expansion – you will help generate new/expansion business by leveraging your existing relationships and customers to build a pipeline of opportunities
  • Customer Advocacy – work directly with the customer advocates and the Customer Support Manager to ensure we are providing the very best support to our customers

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 4+ years at a Business-to-Business organization in Account Management/Sales
  • High social and emotional intelligence
  • Has carried a quota for retention and/or new business
  • Fluency in English along with excellent phone skills, phone etiquette, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient with Salesforce
  • BA/BS degree
  • Experience managing or selling into Fortune 500 accounts

Compensation Plan

We offer a competitive compensation package including a base salary and a quarterly incentive plan based on benchmarks around retention and upsell. We also offer comprehensive health and dental insurance, generous PTO, and a 401K plan with matching. Our offices are located in Emeryville, which is a quick counter-commute from SF.
