What is IP SAN?

IP SANs allows a server to access remote storage resources such as disks and tape drives using an IP network and iSCSI, an Internet Protocol (IP)-based storage networking standard. IP SANs can be used to facilitate data transfers over intranets and to manage storage over long distances.
